Prescott Valley  Police Internship Learning Program

The Prescott Valley Police Department is always seeking qualified citizens to join our Department as it strives to serve our community.  The internship program is designed to allow the applicant to learn about Law Enforcement at the local level and build their knowledge base about the career.  We recognize the importance of higher education and appreciate the opportunity to participate with local educational institutions to expand the applicant’s overall knowledge in the field and gain important skills and knowledge to pursue a future career in the Law Enforcement.  Some of the benefits to participating in the Prescott Valley Police Internship program include:

  • Learn new job skills
  • Build knowledge of municipal law enforcement efforts
  • Gain perspective on future career paths
  • Add to a resume as a job reference
  • Be part of a “Community-Based Policing” team

Participating in the Internship program with the Prescott Valley Police Department is very similar to applying for a job.  It requires the completion of an application, an oral interview, and a background check that includes fingerprinting and a criminal histories inquiry.  Listed below are some of the assignments during the program:

  • Criminal Investigation Division assistance
  • Support Service Division assistance
  • Patrol division
  • Records division
  • Police regional dispatch center
